Unit Overview:
The Orthopedic unit, situated on the 4th floor of TMC's tower, features a 40-bed post-surgical inpatient setting. Each room offers private accommodations with scenic views. Most patients in this unit have opted for elective surgeries, including hip, knee, shoulder, spine, or ankle procedures. Our post-surgical patients are generally healthy, motivated to recover, and tend to progress quickly. Typically, patients undergoing elective hip and knee surgeries are discharged the following day, while those having spinal procedures may stay for two to three days. We collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, hospitalists, case management, and therapy teams to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, placing the patient at the heart of our care approach.
Position Summary:
The Clinical Nurse Leader is accountable for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery. This role involves facilitating and mentoring team members to enhance their professional growth and skill advancement. Additionally, the Clinical Nurse Leader will continuously evaluate unit needs to ensure adequate resources for current and future shifts, collaborating with both clinical and non-clinical departments to manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently. Professionalism and adherence to practice standards are paramount, with an emphasis on holding team members accountable for compliance.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in an acute care environment is required; two (2) years is preferred.
Licensure and Certification: Current RN licensure for the state of Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are mandatory. Additional certifications may be required based on departmental needs.
