Ambulatory Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulatory Care Nurse to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As an Ambulatory Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting.
Job Summary:The Ambulatory Care Nurse will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. This includes participating in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities, collecting patient healthcare data systematically, and collaborating with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care.
Key Responsibilities:- Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests
- Collects patient health history
- Records information in electronic health record
- Provides information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans
- Administers medications, including vaccinations, IV therapy, oxygen administration, and provides comprehensive wound care
- Assesses and monitors patient responses to various treatments, procedures, and anesthesia
- Assesses and interprets patient information, making treatment decisions as appropriate
- Consults with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine best treatment plans for patients
- Directs, supervises, and delegates to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and technicians as needed to support patient flow and efficiency
- A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is highly preferred; a Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing requires a minimum of one year experience in conjunction with plans to earn a baccalaureate degree
- Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills
- ACLS certification
- Membership in pertinent professional organizations
