EVS Technician

ProMedica Toledo Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented EVS Technician to join our team. As an EVS Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Job Summary:The EVS Technician is responsible for executing daily duties to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. This includes cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, common areas, and other assigned areas, as well as adhering to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standards.
Responsibilities:- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, common areas, and other assigned areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Adhere to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standards.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives to improve patient experience and cleanliness metrics.
- Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Remove trash and other waste and transport to the appropriate disposal area.
- Follow all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and processes, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Recognize and adhere to patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
- High School Diploma desired/preferred.
- Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) desired/preferred.
- Ability to read/write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred.
- Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others.
- Ability to communicate orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where co-workers and team members reciprocate in kind.
