Description

As a Nurse Specialist at Medical City Dallas, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to women of childbearing age and their infants. You will work closely with our team to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care, from prenatal to postpartum.

At Medical City Dallas, our nurses play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Is accountable for consistent, safe, high quality care of all antepartum or postpartum patients. Is familiar with vaginal and C-section births, fetal monitoring and provide care to patients who have received various forms of anesthesia. Will be accountable per policy for managing patients receiving Magnesium Sulfate IV Infusions.

Demonstrates ability to care for women of childbearing age and infants up to four (4) hours old. Must support family centered maternity care.

Must strongly support family centered maternity care.

What qualifications you will need:

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position.

Antepartum experience required and competent in obstetrical practice

Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license

Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider

NRP required within 3 months of hire

Must successfully complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course
