  • Behavioral Assessment: Participate in various committee meetings to assess and classify incarcerated individuals. Review behavioral reports and collaborate with committee members to determine appropriate recommendations for rehabilitation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Utilize core correctional practices to foster positive interactions with incarcerated individuals. Employ behavioral techniques to promote problem-solving skills and facilitate constructive behavior changes.
  • Documentation: Conduct thorough assessments and maintain accurate records of individual needs, capacities, and behaviors. Utilize computer systems for data management and reporting.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans aimed at successful community reintegration for incarcerated individuals.
  • Training and Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to correctional counseling.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a minimum of four years of experience in providing guidance and counseling services in relevant areas. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
