Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to both pets and their owners.
  • Effectively manage caseloads and prioritize patient care.

  • Organize and oversee the daily operations of the clinic.
  • Record comprehensive patient histories and manage medical records, invoicing, and discharges.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, veterinarians, and clients, and recommend additional services as appropriate.
  • Uphold the core values and mission of the Veterinary Emergency Center, focusing on the best interests of our patients.
  • Participate in team meetings and engage in community outreach and special events.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT).
  • Fear Free certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional client service abilities and professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to inspire, educate, multitask, and function effectively as part of a team.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and critical thinking skills.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in calculations related to medication and treatments.
  • Flexible availability, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be available for all shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

Work Environment:

This position operates within a controlled medical clinic environment. Employees may encounter mild X-ray radiation and potential exposure to infectious diseases. The work setting may involve high noise levels from animals and equipment, with risks of being bitten or scratched.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the use of standard office equipment and the ability to stand and type for prolonged periods. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Hours:

This is a full-time role with varying shifts, including three 12-hour days per week. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to meet the demands of the position.
