Head of Intellectual Property Litigation

Moderna is seeking an exceptional intellectual property litigator to lead our global IP litigation strategy. As Head of Intellectual Property Litigation, you will drive our approach to managing global IP litigation and opposition matters with urgency and strategic foresight.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a forward-looking IP litigation strategy, incorporating the mindset of pushing past possible to navigate global intellectual property challenges.
- Lead a diverse team of outside counsel, adapting strategies in response to evolving legal landscapes and business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to safeguard Moderna's interests and protect our rapid innovation.
- Manage discovery and litigation challenges with a focus on efficiency and minimal business disruption, leveraging technology to streamline processes.
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and accountability within the IP team.
- J.D. from a national law school and admission to any state bar in the United States; eligible to register as in-house counsel in the State of Massachusetts.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in IP litigation, with a preference for global experience and a proven track record in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the capability to build and lead a high-performing team.
