Veterans Care Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide part-time clinical support to veterans receiving care at our facility. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, you will deliver direct patient care, monitor medication adherence, and engage in treatment planning.
About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LVN to make a meaningful difference in the lives of combat veterans. You will work under the supervision of our Nursing Manager, collaborating with each veteran to develop a personalized care plan that aligns with their treatment goals.
Responsibilities- Deliver compassionate, trauma-informed care to male combat veterans, ensuring their dignity and respect.
- Engage daily with veterans to cultivate a safe and supportive care environment.
- Monitor veterans during self-administration of medication to ensure adherence and safety.
- Distribute educational materials on the importance of medication compliance.
- Collaborate with veterans to address medication-related inquiries and concerns.
- Provide updates on veterans' progress and care needs during interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Assist veterans with transportation to VA appointments as needed.
- Serve as a first responder to emergencies on campus, coordinating appropriate emergency actions as necessary.
- Active LVN License: Must hold a valid and unencumbered Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing with the Texas State Licensing Board.
- Prior experience working with combat veterans or in a trauma-informed care setting is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or an equivalent CPR certification is required.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid, unencumbered driver's license.
$62,000 - $72,000 per year, based on experience.
