Skilled Maintenance Laborer Position

We are seeking a skilled maintenance laborer to join our team at the Housing Authority of the City of Easton. This role is responsible for performing construction and maintenance projects, completing building and systems repairs, and ensuring that all systems and structures are functioning efficiently and safely.
The selected applicant will be based within our 11th Street maintenance operations building and will travel frequently between our various properties within the City of Easton to complete assigned jobs and projects. A valid driver's license is mandatory, and the candidate must reside within 30 miles of 157 South 4th Street.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to work effectively with public housing residents, and have the emotional intelligence to do so in a courteous and deescalating manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently complete maintenance and construction projects as assigned daily.
- Accurately and timely complete work orders.
- Clean, spackle, and paint vacant units.
- Perform general plumbing and irrigation repairs as directed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Install new systems and replace defective parts.
- Monitor maintenance supplies and tools.
- Inspect electrical panels, plumbing systems, and safety equipment.
- Stay current with changing technology and maintenance techniques.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of related construction and maintenance experience.
- Valid driver's license and ability to reside within 30 miles of 157 South 4th Street.
