Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the operating room team, providing assistance to surgeons and registered nurses during surgical operations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses
• Provide and assist in the care, maintenance, disinfection, and sterilization of instrument trays
• Perform surgical scrub assistance and other activities related to processing supplies and equipment in Central Supply and the O.R.
• Prepare the O.R. by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, solutions, and equipment
• Assist in transporting and positioning patients
• Help with the instrument and sponge and sharp counts
• Help with the care of specimens
• Assist with applying the dressing

Requirements:

• High School diploma
• Completion of a program for Surgical Technology
• Surgical Technician certification or equivalent experience
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association
