Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the operating room team, providing support to surgeons and registered nurses during surgical operations. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons and registered nurses
• Provide and assist in the care, maintenance, disinfection, and sterilization of instrument trays
• Perform surgical scrub assistance and other activities related to the processing of supplies and equipment in Central Supply and the O.R.
• Prepare the O.R. by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, solutions, and equipment
• Assist in transporting and positioning patients
• Help with the instrument and sponge and sharp counts
• Help with the care of specimens
• Assist with applying the dressing

Requirements:

• High School diploma
• Completion of a program for Surgical Technology
• Surgical Technician certification or equivalent experience
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association
