Key Responsibilities

As a GIS Software Developer, you will engage with business stakeholders to architect solutions and guide analysts and developers through iterative development processes. Your expertise in adhering to best practices will be essential as you lead the development, testing, debugging, and deployment of features and functionalities. You are expected to be a critical thinker, driven, and passionate about leading initiatives and mentoring others. Your innovative mindset will be valuable in researching and proposing creative solutions. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively convey ideas and concepts to both business and technical teams.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Over 5 years of experience with GIS tools such as Esri ArcGIS (Desktop, Pro, Server, SDE, and AGOL), Google Maps, and open-source GIS applications.
  • More than 5 years of experience in enterprise software development utilizing Python (versions 2.x and 3.x).
  • Experience with multithreading, asynchronous programming, and server pool environments.
  • Proficiency in Python frameworks like Flask, Django, or Tornado.
  • At least 2 years of experience in JAVA development.
  • Front-end development skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Familiarity with developing web services using RESTful APIs, XML, SOAP, or JSON.
  • Database management and SQL knowledge (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
  • Experience with development across multiple platforms, including Windows and Linux.
  • Proficient in Linux environments and basic shell scripting; capable of job scheduling and workload automation.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean).
  • A high degree of creativity and independence is expected.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cloud development.
  • Knowledge of big data solutions.
  • Familiarity with functional programming.
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
  • Understanding of routing technologies.
  • Proficiency in Java 1.7 and above.
  • Experience with Tomcat and WebSphere Application Servers.
  • Familiarity with Spring MVC versions 3 or 4.
  • Experience with Hibernate ORM.
  • Knowledge of various JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular JS, ExtJS, Dojo, etc.).
  • Experience with PL/SQL.
Educational Background and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
