Sportsbook Writer

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Uphold and promote the service standards of Magnolia Bluffs Casino consistently.

· Accurately process and settle valid sportsbook tickets.

· Manage wagering terminals and perform necessary machine upkeep, including loading new tickets and maintaining a clean work area.

· Provide assistance to guests by clarifying wagering information and addressing inquiries with a comprehensive understanding of the department and the casino.

· Possess a thorough knowledge of all betting options available on the board and be prepared to explain them to customers as required.

· Collaborate with supervisors to identify guests with specific needs, ensuring the safeguarding of company assets and delivering optimal guest service.

· Monitor and report any unusual or suspicious wagering behaviors or transactions.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with guests, team members, and management.

· Basic mathematical skills are essential.

· Adhere to all company policies, departmental regulations, and CODOG guidelines.

· Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and guests.

· Must obtain and maintain a CODOG Gaming Support License.

· Minimum age requirement of 21 years.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· High School diploma or equivalent is required.

· Previous experience in a sportsbook environment is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Requires normal vision capabilities, including the ability to see colors and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

· Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 35 pounds, as well as standing and walking for extended periods.

· Manual dexterity is necessary for operating job-related equipment.

· Work may be conducted in environments that are subject to varying temperatures and noise levels.

· Job duties will involve standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping, which includes maintaining and caring for the assigned area. Frequent interaction with team members and guests is expected.
