Your Contributions
What you'll be responsible for...
We are looking for a Battery Production Engineer to become an integral part of our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the manufacturing delivery process for our battery production lines, ensuring exceptional quality and operational efficiency.
Equipment Setup and Installation:
• Manage timelines for assigned projects and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Supervise the setup and installation of machinery utilized in battery cell production, module assembly, and factory automation.
• Ensure the smooth operation of integrated systems, including material handling and automated assembly lines.
• Enhance installation processes to boost efficiency and production capacity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges in partnership with OEMs, Safety, Facility, Controls, and Process teams.
• Create and manage Field Action Requests (FAR) through to completion.
• Collaborate closely with skilled tradespeople, OEM representatives, and joint venture partners to ensure accurate equipment installation and functionality.
• Document installation procedures and operational guidelines to assist maintenance personnel.
• Implement quality assurance measures during setup to guarantee production meets required standards and specifications.
Process Optimization and Team Collaboration:
• Develop standardized engineering solutions for manufacturing equipment, focusing on ergonomics, safety, productivity, and process compliance.
• Drive efficiency in investment processes alongside Product Development (PD) and Joint Venture (JV) partners.
• Integrate continuous improvement methodologies using ME Continuous Improvement/Lessons Learned, Deviation, and Decision Record Processes.
• Engage in peer reviews, sharing insights and lessons learned.
• Work with cross-functional teams to enhance production processes and elevate product quality.
• Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective measures.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to Ford's safety protocols and industry standards for battery manufacturing.
• Travel to various manufacturing facilities to collaborate with team members, oversee vendor operations, and conduct in-plant evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and joint venture partners to ensure project success and timely product delivery.
Qualifications
Required:
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in large-scale manufacturing process installation.
• Experience in understanding customer needs and translating them into viable solutions.
• Proactive and adaptable mindset, thriving in a dynamic and evolving industry while embracing new technologies and methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred:
• Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in battery manufacturing installation, particularly in electrode, cell assembly, factory automation, or related equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to installation processes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing battery manufacturing.
