We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wellness Nurse to join our team at Watercrest Senior Living. As a key member of our Resident Care team, you will provide direct and indirect care to our residents in a sensitive, professional, and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by Example: Direct all aspects of decision making and serve as a role model for our Resident Care specialists.
- Charge Nurse: Ensure residents are well cared for during assigned shifts and assume responsibility in the absence of the Executive Director and Resident Wellness Director/Director of Nursing.
- Medication Management: Contribute to all aspects of medication management, including orders, administration, storage, documentation, and adherence to state regulations and company policies.
- Environmental Safety: Ensure resident rooms and common areas are clean and safe at all times.
- Training and Development: Train Resident Care specialists on resident conditions and provide effective, professional, and sensitive care.
- Medication Administration: Assist residents with self-medication or administration of medications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Provide accurate and timely documentation of all care provided to residents and complete accident and incident reports as required.
- Relationship Building: Maintain relationships with residents, family members, and responsible parties.
- Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared for and manage emergency situations, including disasters, fires, and other emergencies.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Ensure adequate and appropriately trained Resident Care specialists are available for each shift within company and state guidelines.
- Education: LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or RN (Registered Nurse) license.
- Experience: Minimum one year in the senior living, Assisted Living, Memory Care environment.
- Skills and Abilities: Effective communication, independent decision-making, customer service principles, and knowledge of the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Able to stand or walk 75% of the day.
- Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions.
- Able to work under stress and in emergency situations.
- Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping.
- Able to talk and hear effectively.
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work in all areas of the community.
- Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and cleaning chemicals.
- Use personal protective equipment and supplies when needed to prevent burns, falls, and infection.
