Job Overview

The Behavioral Health Clinical Co-Responder plays a vital role in providing timely and immediate mental health services, partnering with local law enforcement agencies to strengthen collaboration with community resources.

About the Position

This grant-funded position operates as an independently licensed behavioral health clinician co-responder, working closely with officers to respond to mental health and substance abuse calls for service.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates, assesses, and plans interventions to help patients cope with social, emotional, economic, and environmental problems.
  • Works a varied schedule of full-time, evenings/weekends, and on-call shifts, responding in the field as a co-responder with local law enforcement to patients in active crisis.
  • Determines, prioritizes, and provides or arranges for needed internal and external services/interventions, identifying appropriate resources including transportation, housing, healthcare, and social/spiritual services, and provides referrals as part of the field response.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or higher in Social Service or Behavioral Health related field.
  • A Wyoming Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Counselor (LMFT).
  • Two or more years of clinical experience including acute mental illness.
