Responsibilities:


Evaluates the nutritional status of patients and, based on this assessment, plans, implements, and reviews effective and economical nutrition care for clients.


Offers nutrition education and counseling using methods that consider the diverse needs of age-specific populations, along with cultural, religious, and ethnic factors.

Maintains ongoing communication with the patient's referring physician and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.

Maintains a high level of proficiency while integrating current research findings and methodologies into the nutrition care of clients.


Develops and executes a personalized nutrition intervention plan aligned with the patient's medical objectives, dietary prescriptions, and self-management training.

Aids patients in establishing realistic, long-term health objectives and goal-oriented behaviors.

Identifies opportunities to enhance awareness of outpatient nutrition services among patients, physicians, and the community.

Participates in the orientation and training of new nutrition specialists, as needed.

Contributes to the education of dietetic students and interns upon request.

Designs and delivers community nutrition education initiatives as assigned.

Maintains precise records of appointments for scheduling and billing purposes.

Provides appropriate documentation summarizing the nutrition care plan in the patient's medical record.

Assists in the development and revision of patient education materials, forms, and protocols.

Engages in the planning and formulation of nutrition-related policies, procedures, and objectives.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Foods, Human Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, or Institution Management from an accredited four-year institution.


Successful completion of a post-graduate or equivalent dietetic program that meets the requirements for registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Experience in public speaking

One year of experience as a clinical dietitian is preferred.

Experience as an outpatient nutrition specialist is highly desirable.
