The University of California seeks a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team. As a Recreation Therapist, you will provide direct patient treatment in a variety of groups and individual activities on days, evenings, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and revise the activities program to meet the needs of patients.
- Assess patient treatment needs, report and document outcomes, and redefine goals in collaboration with the Treatment Team.
- Manage the activity program, including budget, supplies, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or a related field.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Assessment and Response Training (BART) at time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART within 6 months.
- One year of recent experience as a Recreation Therapist in a large, complex healthcare system is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
- Must be able to work variable hours, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
The annual full pay range for this position is $68,610 - $90,340, with an hourly equivalent of $43.27. Compensation is determined by factors including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications, as well as business and organizational needs.
