Team OverviewThe Finance Engineering team is integral to Stripe, focusing on critical financial areas such as Accounting, Finance & Strategy, and Treasury. Engineers within this team develop platforms, data pipelines, and financial products that support various use cases, including financial analytics, planning, and business intelligence.
Role ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a seasoned technical advisor to oversee Finance-wide engineering initiatives. This position will collaborate closely with the Head of Finance Systems to identify technical action items, address urgent technical needs, and engage with Stripe leadership.
- Senior Staff or Principal Engineer with over 10 years of software engineering experience.
- Deep understanding of Stripe products and their implications for financial data.
- Experience with scalable data systems such as Spark, Flink, Trino, and Kafka.
- Hands-on approach with a readiness to engage in technical details.
- Ability to drive technical design across multiple engineering teams to achieve business objectives.
- Strong communication skills, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and trade-offs.

- 10+ years of professional software development experience, including leading cross-team projects.
- Proven ability to facilitate complex discussions with senior leadership.
- Experience in designing and implementing solutions for large-scale data challenges.
- Commitment to high-quality code standards.
- Willingness to commute to the office as required.
- Experience in accounting, finance, or payment systems.
