Job Summary

Metalico is seeking a skilled Loader Operator/Auto Dismantler to join our team at Skyway Auto Parts. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient dismantling of vehicles, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare the Worksite: Ensure the jobsite and yard are tidy and safe for operations.
  • Fluid Removal: Remove fluids such as gas or oil from vehicles in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Tire Removal: Remove tires from vehicles using specialized equipment.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate a variety of tools and machines, including blowtorches, forklifts, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.
  • Loader Operation: Use loaders to rotate vehicle inventory throughout the yard.
  • Parking and Removal: Park newest vehicles and remove oldest vehicles to be crushed and shipped.
  • Safe Handling and Movement: Safely handle and move vehicles, ensuring the well-being of yourself and others.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with all site personnel to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Log Maintenance: Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, and other relevant information.
  • Daily Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Hazard Identification and Prevention: Identify, report, correct, and/or prevent hazards in the workplace.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to health, safety, and environmental rules.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Operational Skills: Ability to operate bobcats, forklifts, and loaders.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, twist, and kneel.
  • Quick Learning and Adaptability: Quick learner who can follow directions and adapt to changing situations.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Organization and Multitasking: Organized, consistent, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
