Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Bridge Project Engineer to join our Bridge and Structure's team in Binghamton, NY.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects, developing work plans for various bridge designs, coordinating with other interfacing disciplines, and performing calculations, computer modeling, design and drawing reviews, cost estimating, and developing specifications/construction documents.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical design and assigned staff on bridge projects
  • Develop work plans for various bridge designs
  • Coordinate with other interfacing disciplines
  • Perform calculations, computer modeling, design and drawing reviews, cost estimating, and developing specifications/construction documents
  • Assist in the mentoring and development of design staff
  • Participate in the development and updates of internal standards of practices
  • Perform quality control and assurance checks on design computations, computer modeling, CAD drawings, reports, estimates, and specifications
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, other design professionals, and contractors
  • Act as quality coordinator for discipline-led projects
  • Assist in the development of technical narratives, scope, and fee for project pursuits
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Master's a plus
  • 10+ years of professional design engineering work related to bridges or structures
  • P.E. license required in New York State or ability to obtain one
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStation a plus
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong work ethic and willingness for continued learning
  • Knowledge of NYSDOT, AASHTO, and AREMA design codes a plus
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions
