Job Title: Registered Nurse Unit Manager, RN

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse Unit Manager, RN to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing professional supervision, guidance, and direction to staff in both clinical and personnel issues on the unit. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and creating a supportive work environment.

About the Role

">
  • Supervise and coordinate resident care in accordance with State DOH regulations, ensuring seamless communication among team members and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide support to residents and their families in addressing clinical challenges and concerns, promoting overall well-being and satisfaction.
  • Ensure staff adheres to safety and infection control guidelines, fostering a culture of excellence and quality care.
  • Assist in establishing daily operations of resident care on the unit, including but not limited to showers/baths, toileting, meal, medication administration, and activities.
  • Communicate pertinent information to other members of the Interdisciplinary Team, ensuring resident/family needs are met.
  • Perform daily rounds of all residents on the unit and conduct assessments as required by the facility (admission, elopement, pain, etc.).
  • Develop and implement plans of care for each resident, documenting and communicating findings to the designated Nursing Supervisor.
  • Prepare resident assignments for Certified Nursing Assistants, considering the category of needs of the patient and competency of personnel.
  • Organize, oversee, and supervise assigned unit activities and staff assignments, providing a Nursing Assistant assignment for each CNA on his/her team.

Requirements and Qualifications

">
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing with a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or three years' experience in long-term care.
  • Current licensure in NYS as a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Minimum three years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related medical facility, training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practice.
  • A sincere desire to work with the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled.
  • A thorough knowledge of medical, social, and psychological needs of residents.
  • Good judgment in emergency situations.
  • Possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm to create an atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation and growth.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to handle emergencies with calm and intelligent response.
  • Computer literacy.
