Position Summary

Waypoint is seeking a dedicated and mission-oriented individual to fill the role of Family Engagement Coordinator (FEC) within our Family Preservation Team. This position is essential in bridging the gap between Waypoint and the DCYF District office. The FEC will focus on cultivating relationships that promote effective communication and strengthen partnerships among Waypoint, DCYF, community organizations, and families in need of assistance. Additionally, this role will involve managing a small caseload of 2-3 families as required. This is a part-time position with flexible hours, up to 29 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend monthly meetings with DCYF personnel.
  • Collaborate with the DCYF team to gather necessary documentation for family transitions.
  • Establish and maintain timely communication between DCYF and families seeking voluntary services.
  • Follow up with families who have not yet engaged with available services.
  • Act as a supportive team member to strengthen partnerships between Waypoint, DCYF, community organizations, and families.
  • Enhance communication effectiveness between families and CB-VS providers and DCYF when applicable.
  • Foster ongoing relationships with families receiving voluntary services by recognizing and celebrating their successes.
  • Work alongside case managers and supervisors during case consultations.
  • Maintain accurate data on case assignments and monitor progress in collaboration with the leadership CBVS team.
  • Assist the QI team in conducting quarterly and annual data assessments to evaluate growth and outcomes.
  • Support case managers in implementing solution-focused casework methodologies.
  • Manage a small caseload of families, conducting intakes and engaging with them weekly to assess strengths, needs, and required resources.
  • Complete and submit intake documentation, ensuring timely and thorough completion of all required case records.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: BA or BS Degree or 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, with no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, as well as motor vehicle record checks.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance meeting agency minimum liability standards of $50,000/$100,000.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to seek guidance when necessary.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Capable of advocating for, supporting, and guiding clients while providing helpful resources.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exhibit empathy, compassion, and care for individuals while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs.
