About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Careers. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the sustainment of rugged military electronics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical equipment for use in military environments.
  • Support the production and sustainment of released products, including identifying and resolving issues throughout the product's life cycle.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
  • Work with limited supervision to meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years designing and developing mechanical equipment for use in military environments.
  • Experience with design and production support.
  • Experience with 3D CAD design tools and related product data management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of military and commercial specifications.
  • Experience in design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies, shelter assemblies, power distribution equipment packaging, and rack systems.
  • Familiarity with ECAD development process.
  • Reliability or failure analysis experience.
  • Experience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools.
  • Familiarity with configuration and data management.
