Position Overview
NorthWest Arkansas Community College is in search of qualified candidates to create a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors in the field of photography.
Applications will be retained for the fiscal year. When an opening arises, the hiring department will evaluate the applications on file.
After the conclusion of each fiscal year, applications will expire, necessitating a new submission to remain in the applicant pool.
Curriculum Details
The photography curriculum at NWACC encompasses both darkroom (Photography I) and digital photography (Digital Photography), along with advanced techniques in darkroom, digital, and alternative processes (Photography II).
This curriculum is primarily directed towards art and graphic design students.
Additionally, the Art Department offers courses in Art Appreciation, Art History, History of Photography, Graphic Design, drawing, oil painting, watermedia, sculpture/3D Design, ceramics, figure drawing, and an introduction to studio art.
Moreover, the Graphic Design Department provides courses such as Design I, Graphic Design I, Graphic Design II (Symbols), Graphic Design III (Layout and Prepress), Color Studies, Video Production & Editing, Web Application Design, Advanced Graphic Design I, Digital Illustration, 3D Animation, and Graphic Design Internship.
There is significant curricular overlap between degree-seeking students in Art and Graphic Design at NWACC.
Compensation
The compensation for this position is set at $765 per credit hour.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess experience in both darkroom and digital photography, alongside familiarity with alternative photographic/imaging processes.
Experience in teaching at a community college and an understanding of the community college mission is advantageous.
Demonstrated teaching proficiency is of utmost importance.
Experience in classroom instruction as well as familiarity with online learning management systems, such as Canvas or similar platforms, is highly desirable.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience or interest in project-based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning methodologies.

Required Qualifications
