Job Summary

The Resident Caregiver plays a vital role in assisting residents with their daily needs, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This position requires a high level of empathy, patience, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide food service and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean and comfortable environment
  • Manage behavior and provide socialization opportunities to promote residents' mental and emotional well-being
  • Participate in activities and events to enhance residents' quality of life
  • Provide orientation and information to residents and their families
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly; previous dementia experience preferred
  • Certification required according to state regulations; must successfully complete required training
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis
  • Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for washing, bathing, dressing, writing, cleaning)
