Microbiologist Specialist

BioPhase Solutions is a leading recruitment agency for the scientific community in Southern California. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist to join our client's team in Orange County.

Job Summary:

As a Microbiologist, you will be responsible for performing general microbiological testing in a pharmaceutical quality control laboratory. Your primary focus will be on environmental monitoring in an aseptic manufacturing facility to support the production of sterile products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials and drug products, including bioburden, sterility, endotoxins, and microbial limits testing.
• Develop and troubleshoot new microbiological methods, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Execute environmental monitoring programs, including viable and nonviable sampling and data analysis.
• Collect water samples for testing, as needed, and support media fills through personnel monitoring and culture reading.
• Document raw data contemporaneously and report results promptly, utilizing the company's LIMS system.
• Maintain laboratory working areas in a clean and organized state, assisting with inventory review and restocking.
• Perform support functions, as needed, including washing glassware, preparing media, and running autoclaves.
• Collaborate with other departments on site projects, such as engineering, QA, and MSAT.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field.
• At least 4 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a microbiology lab.
• GMP pharmaceutical experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused approach.
