Microbiologist I

The Microbiologist I is a key member of our Quality Assurance team, responsible for conducting microbiological analyses of raw materials, finished products, and waters. As a professional scientist, you will work independently on assigned projects, developing skills and understanding of laboratory procedures, and exhibiting technical expertise.

• Microbiological Analysis: Conduct analyses of samples in accordance with USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA procedures, and other non-routine procedures as encountered.
• Media Preparation: Prepare media and reagents required for the conduct of microbiological analyses.
• Scheduling and Organization: Schedule analyses so that completion deadlines are met, while also ensuring thorough and thoughtful conduct of analyses.
• Quality Assurance: Practice aseptic techniques and disinfection per laboratory SOPs, and maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping.
• Instrumentation and Equipment: Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and sterilization of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Documentation and Data Entry: Document activities in accordance with cGMP, and accurately enter data into laboratory information management systems.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related sciences.
• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in microbiological analysis or related field.
• Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of scientific principles, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
