Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our team at HMS Insurance Associates, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial lines accounts, working closely with producers to assess risk management needs, and marketing new and renewal accounts to our carrier partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management
    • Manage commercial lines accounts to ensure consistent quality service to clients and customers
    • Respond to customer requests and carrier requests in a timely and professional manner
    • Maintain accurate policy detail for claims department
    • Respond to accounting differences and resolve issues promptly
  • Policy Processing
    • Process billing, reviewing policies, updating detail, processing endorsements, and audits in a timely and accurate manner
    • Review and process new and renewal policies, invoices, and endorsements
    • Deliver policies and endorsements to customers in a timely manner
  • Marketing and Renewal
    • Market new and renewal accounts to carrier partners in a timely and accurate manner
    • Follow up on quotes and ensure accuracy and finalization
    • Bind and order policies in a timely and accurate manner
  • Workflow and Organization
    • Organize and orchestrate the efficient operations of the team, including the CSR, to meet deadlines
    • Use internal forms and document management procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Maryland State Property & Casualty Producer license
    • Three years of customer service/account management experience
    • Bachelor's degree, AAI, AU, CRIS or related professional designation preferred
    • Solid understanding of insurance principles
    • Dedicated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
    • Experienced and fluent with insurance carrier rating systems and websites
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Organization skills to successfully handle multiple tasks
    • Detail-oriented to ensure accuracy
    • Excellent listening skills
    • Confident problem solver with focus on resolving customer service issues
    • Superior typing and data entry skills
    • Exceptional computer skills, including navigation of various systems and integration tools
    • Results-oriented, with the capability of meeting deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team in a sales environment
