System Safety Engineer Job Description

Talon Analytics is seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for implementing systems principles and concepts to master and tame the complexity of modern warfighting systems development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
  • Function in a Model-Based Systems Engineering database to improve and evolve the System Safety process and methodology.
  • Work directly with customers and project leadership to report out on safety program status, and be responsible for preparing reports and reviewing subcontractor safety documentation and analyses.
  • Create prediction models and mathematical analyses supporting product reliability, maintainability, and availability.
  • Develop presentations and provide briefings to customers and company senior management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience as a Systems Safety engineer or related role.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical issues and status in both written and oral form to internal and external customers.
  • Adaptability to change, determination to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaboration with the team to make the best decisions, and a positive work environment.
