As a Cross-Functional Team Member, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, monitoring the front end, and collaborating across various departments including packaging, stocking, rotation, production, and sanitation.

What does the role entail?

Customer Service / Sales / Stocking:

  • Delivers excellent customer service; responds to customer inquiries regarding products, processes orders, and assists with product selection
  • Utilizes suggestive selling techniques to fulfill customer needs and enhance department sales
  • May announce product information to keep customers informed
  • Works flexible hours to support various departmental shifts
  • Engages in multiple departmental tasks, including technical or perishable areas such as bakery, floral, market, etc.
  • Handles stocking and replenishment, product returns and rotation, product selection, service support, inventory accuracy, and additional responsibilities across the store
  • Constructs, stocks, and maintains displays and fixtures
  • Assists with inventory management; loads, unloads, and moves products
  • Slices, packages, labels, rotates, merchandises, culls, and prices products
  • Gains knowledge across multiple departments; applies understanding of processes and policies
  • Adheres to store and departmental SOPs, policies, and applicable regulations
  • For the service cross-functional team, acts as a Checker when not engaged in cross-functional duties

Food Safety / Sanitation:

  • Ensures adherence to departmental and store SOPs for food safety and sanitation
  • Properly operates and maintains all equipment
  • Cleans and sanitizes sales floors, display cases, preparation areas, and equipment
What is your background?

  • Minimum age of 18 (mandatory)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6+ months of experience in H-E-B store operations
  • Completion of Company Orientation and Safety Training

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and manage weights according to departmental standards
  • Regularly engage in activities that require reaching, standing, walking, and grasping
  • Occasionally exposed to varying environmental conditions

It is the responsibility of Partners to never lift beyond their own safe lifting limit. If an item is too heavy to lift, push, pull, or carry, the Partner must break the box down into lighter, more manageable components or seek assistance from another Partner or a manager.
