Dialysis Technician

Overview

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing individualized care for patients with chronic kidney disease. Our mission is to prioritize patient care and well-being, and we seek motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team.

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a critical role in supporting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process. This includes providing care to patients with end-stage renal disease, obtaining and recording patient vital signs and machine readings, and monitoring patients during dialysis.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in infection control and patient education activities
• Guide new patients through a comprehensive education plan
• Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
• Role under RN supervision
• Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
• Insert and remove patient access needles
• Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes, and inform charge nurse of any concerns
• Calculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weight
• Determine patient care priorities and organize workload accordingly
• Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights
• Maintain and track inventory
• Perform laboratory work
