We are seeking a highly motivated Sales/Admin Associate to join our team at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. As a member of our sales outlet operations, you will play a critical role in providing excellent customer service and supporting the overall mission of our organization.

Job Description:

  • Operate the visitor center sales outlet, including daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform retail sales work, assist customers with merchandise selection, conduct sales transactions, and process credit card payments or accept cash.
  • Initiate requests for new/replacement gift store inventory, inspect deliveries for accuracy, identify incorrect or damaged items, tag them, and stock shelves.
  • Record/secures money received by mail, record it, and route it to the appropriate department.
  • Balance the cash register daily and prepare bank deposits, making a night drop as needed.
  • Operate a computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data into spreadsheets, databases, etc.
  • Maintain and stock vending machines, order replacement products, and coordinate service/repair as needed.
  • Responsible for answering phone lines and communicating the mission and program information to outside sources as needed.
  • Assist the Office Manager in other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of previous experience and/or training involving retail sales, customer service, and clerical work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
  • Experience with Point of Sale System, Mac computer, Microsoft Office, Excel, Google, and network sharing is preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and eager to engage with our customers.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This salary range reflects the competitive market rate for a Sales/Admin Associate in the region.
