Job Overview

Garrison's Home is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Driver Assistant to join our team. As a Driver Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring timely delivery of goods to our customers.

Under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Manager, you will work closely with the Delivery Lead to ensure that all deliveries are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Delivery Support: Assist in delivering a wide variety of furniture and accessories to different addresses and through different routes.
  2. Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload the delivery vehicle, with the Delivery Lead, to ensure items are properly stacked and secured inside the vehicle.
  3. Inspection and Quality Control: Help the Delivery Lead to inspect the condition of furniture and ensure that it meets our high standards.
  4. Communication: Maintain communication with the dispatcher and/or customer if the Delivery Lead is currently driving.
  5. Truck Loading and Securing: Load trucks and secure furniture for delivery, ensuring that plastic is removed and items are covered with the product during transport to prevent damage.
  6. Unload Goods: Work with the Delivery Lead to unload goods based on order details and customer specifications, always taking care to work in a safe manner.
  7. COD Payments: Contact the Dispatch Coordinator immediately if there is a discrepancy regarding COD payments.
  8. Guest Experience: Provide excellent customer service and ensure that our customers have a positive experience.
  9. Safety Standards: Follow all safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  10. Vehicle Maintenance: Work with the Delivery Lead to ensure the vehicle is clean and ready for the next day.
  11. Dispatch Track: Ability to learn and use Dispatch Track, an online app, to manage deliveries and communicate with the team.
  12. Quality Control: Open boxes, crates, and other containers to ensure that furniture and other products are free of defect and properly prepped for delivery.
  13. Time Management: Demonstrate exemplary time management skills and be proactive in seeking out additional work during slower times.
