Position Overview

The Customer Service Estimator position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking to grow their careers within a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Assess bid specifications and drawings to ensure all necessary data is collected for successful project bidding. This includes actively following up with subcontractors to secure bids.
  • Prepare cost proposals for clients based on elevation take-offs, utilizing our pricing guide and software tools.
  • Deliver detailed estimates to clients promptly, working from architectural drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Follow up on estimates and provide insights regarding market pricing trends.
  • Meet sales and margin targets while monitoring actual versus estimated costs, collaborating with leadership to adjust standards as needed.
  • Offer consultation, coordination, and support to clients, sales teams, and internal staff.
  • Maintain organized records of bid documents, correspondence, and project-specific information.
  • Consistent attendance and adherence to safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this role.
Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred but not mandatory:
  • At least 3 years of experience estimating mid-sized glazing projects from architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications, providing detailed take-offs and estimates that consider various building envelope solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Experience with computer software estimating programs for aluminum glazing systems.
  • Solid understanding of metal systems and other infill options and their applications.
  • Strong geometry and math skills.
  • Organized self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/Revit is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and installation processes or a related degree in construction is a plus.
  • Prior estimating experience is preferred.
  • A strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
