Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SM Operator Apprentice 1 to join our team at West Fraser. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient production of our wood products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by collecting debris and disposing of sawdust and dropped lumber in assigned areas.
  • Clean and maintain industrial equipment and workstations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Relieve production positions and operate various light and heavy industrial machinery as needed.
  • Support our culture of safety by adhering to mill safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures and in loud, high-volume environments.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks throughout the shift, including walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
