Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Triage Specialist at American Oncology Network. This is a full-time position that requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming phone calls from patients and home health agencies, using nursing assessment skills to determine the nature of each call and its urgency.
  • Consult with the Head Nurse and/or physician to present patient problems and resolve them or direct calls to the appropriate person.
  • Keep a daily log of incoming calls and chart decisions made regarding the calls.
  • Pull patient charts to accompany messages for nurses and doctors.
  • Discuss patient care with physicians and/or nurse practitioners, and document decisions regarding patient care.
  • Handle prescription refill requests according to company procedure.
  • Work effectively in a multi-site environment, juggling competing priorities and demands from various stakeholders and sites.
Requirements
  • Nursing degree
  • RN license in the state of employment
  • Current CPR and BLS certifications
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed
  • Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
