Company Overview: American Oncology Management Company is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Hot Springs, AR.
Job Summary: The LPN will play a vital role in supporting physicians and registered nurses in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely prepare and administer chemotherapeutic medications to patients as prescribed by physicians, under the supervision of a registered nurse, adhering to established standards and guidelines.
- Assist in collecting laboratory samples and may perform technical laboratory tasks with precision, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Follow proper procedures for specimen handling and processing, and coordinate with external laboratories as necessary based on patient insurance requirements.
- Administer injections to patients after thorough symptom evaluations.
- Conduct patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation in OncoEMR regarding treatments provided.
- Educate patients and their families about medications, potential side effects, and treatment plans when appropriate.
- Manage incoming communications from patients and healthcare facilities, prioritizing urgent matters effectively.
- Assist in inventory management and restocking of medical supplies, ensuring timely availability of necessary items.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information at all times.
- Participate in training new staff members in relevant job functions.
- Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations regarding patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse with preferred experience in IV therapy within a clinical or hospital setting. Current CPR and BLS certifications are required. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential. A valid driver's license is necessary for travel to various clinics.
