The City of Isle of Palms is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and fighting fires in our community.
Key Responsibilities:- Respond to emergency calls, including medical emergencies, fires, and other incidents.
- Provide medical care, including patient assessment, treatment, and transportation.
- Operate fire department equipment, including fire trucks, ambulances, and other vehicles.
- Participate in training and drills to maintain skills and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies.
- Work collaboratively with other emergency responders, including police and medical personnel.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid South Carolina Class E driver's license.
- Completion of Emergency Medical Responder course and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation within six months of employment.
- Completion of requirements of NFPA, IFSAC or Pro Board, Firefighter I & Firefighter II.
- Successful completion of NIMS, ICS or equivalency (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800) within six months of hire.
- Be certified as a Paramedic in the state of South Carolina.
