We are seeking a highly qualified Art Teacher to join our team of teaching professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing daily instruction and enrichment opportunities that support student development of knowledge, skills, and dispositions to complete college and make positive contributions to their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Culture: Create a classroom environment that fosters high achievement and student ownership of their learning, promoting intellectual, social, and emotional development.
  • Daily Instruction: Provide clear learning outcomes, well-designed lessons, and high-quality assessments that align with our curriculum and standards.
  • Hands-on Learning: Incorporate creative, hands-on learning experiences that broaden students' exposure and interests, foster student ingenuity, and require application of knowledge and skills acquired through daily instruction.
  • Classroom Environment: Maintain a visually appealing and rich classroom environment that honors students' achievements with current and accurate displays of exemplary student work.
  • Communication: Communicate with students to understand their talents, interests, and needs, and convey learning expectations and progress toward meeting those expectations.
  • Family Communication: Communicate regularly with families to identify students' talents, interests, and needs, and update parents regarding students' achievements and progress.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with school-based staff and throughout the Friendship network in staff meetings, regular analysis sessions, and professional learning designed to enhance students' learning experience and increase student achievement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Two years of teaching experience and results demonstrating high student achievement and significant growth preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of the Praxis II Exam or possess degree in education or subject area taught
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and above
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and/or continuing education
