Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and special projects. This is a full-time opportunity with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare monthly financial statements on an accrual basis for manufactured home communities and investment groups.
  • Reconciliation and Analysis: Reconcile balance sheet items, including bank accounts, and pursue cash and other reconciling items to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Journal Entries and Reporting: Process journal entries on a timely basis to maintain accurate bank balances and prepare lender-reporting packages and analysis upon request.
  • Year-End Accounting: Prepare year-end accounting packages for external auditors and respond to external auditor inquiries and requests for additional information.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Review Accounts Payable distribution lists for accurate general ledger account numbers, descriptions, and amounts, and review month-end Accounts Receivable reports for manufactured housing communities and investment groups.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare month-to-month and year-to-date budget variance analyses for specific properties on a monthly basis.
  • Management Fee Calculations: Prepare and track management fee calculations.
  • Investor Reporting: Prepare and maintain investor reporting and analysis for designated properties.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Prepare and maintain monthly general ledger reference filing system.
  • Inventory Management: Perform various inventory functions, including identifying and correcting job costing errors.
  • Closing Procedures: Perform monthly closing of general ledger procedures.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate accounting issues to Seniors and Managers in a timely manner and propose solutions.
  • Special Projects: Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • 10-key calculator and reconciliation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably MRI.
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to multitask, with a strong team player mentality in a fast-paced environment.
