  • As a Procurement Excellence Specialist at American Airlines, you will play a crucial role in revolutionizing our procurement processes. This position requires a forward-thinking individual with a strong background in procure-to-pay systems, ideally with experience in Coupa, and a strategic mindset in procurement.
  • This position is part of the Procurement Strategy team within our Finance department.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute procurement initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within defined scope and budget.
  • Formulate and apply data analysis methodologies to enhance procurement operations and supplier performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at refining procurement processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
  • Employ advanced analytical methods to predict market trends and guide strategic choices.
  • Advise on procurement best practices and innovative technologies throughout our Source to Pay process.
  • Monitor procurement metrics and performance, delivering insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate supplier engagement by devising strategies that streamline supplier onboarding and management.
  • Develop and maintain electronic catalogues, ensuring they accurately represent current offerings and pricing.
  • Create sourcing templates to standardize procurement practices across the organization.
  • Focus on automation and digital transformation within the procure-to-pay cycle to enhance efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
  • Utilize advanced analytics to construct dashboards and establish Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) KPIs that assess and track procurement performance.
Qualifications for Success

Minimum Requirements - Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Strategy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in source-to-pay processes, contract lifecycle management, and spend analytics, including negotiation, compliance, and optimization.

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
  • Experience in supplier engagement and electronic catalogue development.

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proven ability to drive change and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in creating sourcing templates with a strong emphasis on automation and digital solutions.
  • Skilled in developing dashboards and defining CPO KPIs.
  • Commitment to sustainability and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
