Job Title: Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist to join our team at Florida Bone and Joint Specialists. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing occupational therapy services to patients suffering from injuries or dysfunction of the musculoskeletal system. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient condition, establish goals, treatments, and care plan in conjunction with patient, family, and physician
  • Review physicians referral/prescription and patients condition and medical records to determine occupational therapy treatment required
  • Test and measure patients' strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs
  • Plan and prepare written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data
  • Administer occupational therapy treatments (including home instruction) within scope of occupational therapy practice appropriately and monitors patient responses to such treatments
  • Evaluate effects of treatments at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit
  • Document findings, treatments, responses, and progress in patients charts according to clinic guidelines
  • Ensure that appropriate treatment is performed in interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians and other departments about impact of OT factors on patient health status
  • Comply with appropriate clinic policies related to infection control, safety, regulations
  • Educate patient and patients family on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercises
  • Serve as information/education resource for patients, families, staff
  • Provide occupational therapy services, maintaining appropriate protocols
  • Supervise and assists with student observation and clinical rotation if applicable
  • Assist in marketing and promotional efforts and events as needed
  • Participate in in-services and other departmental meetings that are organized
  • Assists with smooth running of the clinic with accepting responsibilities assigned to them by the Therapy Manager
Requirements:
  • Occupational therapy degree from a college or university; one year of related experience and/or training preferred
  • Must possess a Occupational Therapy license in state of practice and must be conspicuously displayed at each established practice of business or other location occupied in conducting business

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8 hour shift. The ideal candidate will be able to relocate to Pensacola, FL before starting work.
