Job Title: Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist to join our team at Florida Bone and Joint Specialists. As a key member of our outpatient clinic, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist/Certified Hand Therapist will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing occupational therapy services to patients with various orthopedic and sports medicine conditions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient conditions and develop treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Provide occupational therapy services, including home instruction, to patients with various orthopedic and sports medicine conditions.
  • Test and measure patients' strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
  • Document findings, treatments, responses, and progress in patients' charts according to clinic guidelines.
  • Ensure that appropriate treatment is performed in an interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians and other departments about the impact of OT factors on patient health status.
  • Comply with clinic policies related to infection control, safety, regulations, and quality control requirements.
  • Provide education and training to patients and their families on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercises.
  • Supervise and assist with student observation and clinical rotation, if applicable.
  • Participate in in-services and other departmental meetings, as organized.
  • Assist with the smooth running of the clinic, accepting responsibilities assigned by the Therapy Manager.
Requirements:
  • Occupational therapy degree from a college or university; one year of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Must possess an Occupational Therapy license in the state of practice and display it conspicuously at each established practice of business or other location occupied in conducting business.
