Job Overview:

The Civil / Landscape Project Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing engineering projects, including roads, water supply systems, sanitary sewer systems, and subdivision/site plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial imagery regarding soil composition, terrain, hydrological features, and other topographical and geological data to inform project planning and design.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions.
  • Calculate costs and assess project feasibility based on data analysis.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projects.
  • Manage construction contracts and perform periodic on-site inspections during construction to ensure adherence to engineering plans and specifications.
  • Utilize computer systems and engineering design software to develop engineering solutions.
  • Accompany survey teams in the field to identify grading markers or gather necessary data for plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
  • Strong writing skills for effective reports and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in construction documentation and 3D production.
  • Solid understanding of engineering design principles for site development, along with current knowledge of industry trends, technologies, codes, and regulations.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong technical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project workflows and essential tasks.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other discipline-specific software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • Professional engineering license from the relevant state licensing authority.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
