Job Summary

This position is part of the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR encompasses Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which facilitate Soldier readiness, support the resiliency and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare a limited variety of short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries, etc.
  • Prepare/slice lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches, salads, and pizzas.
  • Ensure that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned and clean other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Accept food orders from patrons and serve alcoholic beverages and spot check the guest checks to insure that the information recorded is correct.
  • Coordinate food and beverage needs for special events, not limited to preparing and serving food and cleaning work areas.

  • Meet state/local age (18) requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages.
  • Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
  • Ability to keep your work area clean, neat, and in order.
  • Basic food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitization principles.
  • Ability to use and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, pull, push and reach for long periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
