Radiation Therapist Part Time

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at Intermountain Healthcare. As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for administering ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription of the Radiation Oncologist.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpret and implement prescription and treatment plans as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Accurately complete and chart all simulation and treatment summaries, and reports.
- Deliver prescribed courses of radiation therapy according to department protocols.
- Perform simulation procedures and prepare immobilization devices for various body parts.
- Monitor patients' clinical progress according to established protocols.
- Obtain accurate measurements, contours, and other information as needed for dosimetry purposes.
- Fabricate treatment immobilization devices as needed.
- Perform daily equipment warm-up and quality assurance procedures.
- Evaluate and assess treatment machine operations.
- Recognize machine malfunctions and report them to the physicist.
- Adhere to strict radiation safety guidelines.
- Perform procedures regarding quality assurance, emergency shutdown, and guidelines that pertain to the operation manuals for equipment.
- Assist in clinical training and evaluation of student therapists if applicable.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with all members of the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Practice effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Adhere to internal quality controls, organizational standards, and department policies and procedures.
- Radiology Tech License from the State of Utah.
- Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy.
