POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the fabrication and welding of various metals, ranging from sheet stock to heavy plate. Proficient in multiple welding techniques including TIG, MIG, stick, and occasional brazing. Utilizes essential hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring instruments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently works on fixturing weldments and develops tooling as necessary for new projects.

Interprets technical drawings, welding symbols, machining specifications, and datums to execute welding tasks and create fixtures.

Collaborates with manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams to address issues related to weldments or technical drawings.

Provides training and mentorship to junior welders.


Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for maintaining a professional, safe, and organized work environment by: punctuality in attendance, adherence to company policies, consistent use of safety glasses in designated areas, upkeep of a tidy workspace, and compliance with safety protocols to minimize errors.


Exhibits a commitment to teamwork by fostering effective relationships and networks with both management and colleagues, collaborating to achieve common objectives.

Adheres to the company's Code of Ethics and Business Conduct standards while strictly following all applicable U.S. and international laws and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Expert knowledge of military specifications and AWS standards.
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles, particularly how pre/post machining operations are influenced by weldments.
  • Advanced blueprint reading skills, including comprehensive understanding of all welding symbols, machining specifications, and datums.
  • Extensive knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), with a solid grasp of Level II responsibilities and procedures.
  • Familiarity with military and AWS workmanship standards, successfully passing the Workmanship exam.
  • Ability to read and utilize all inspection tools (verniers, height gauges).
  • Capable of producing tight tolerance weldments and making necessary adjustments.
  • Proficient in safely operating manual vertical milling machines, saws, grinders, and overhead cranes.
  • Thorough understanding of internal welding procedures and operational protocols.
  • Experience in training and developing junior welders.
  • Expertise in all welding processes utilized by the company (GTA, GMA & SMA).
  • Proven ability to pass all welder performance qualification tests on the first attempt.
