Your Role:
You will play a vital role in supporting Trinity Health's mission and values by executing a range of clinical laboratory tests and associated responsibilities in one or more laboratory departments, adhering to established protocols that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating illnesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess test outcomes and microorganism growth for accuracy within set guidelines, making informed decisions accordingly.
- Stay informed on policies, procedures, and documentation requirements for ongoing education and timely completion of competency evaluations.
- Ensure correct patient identification throughout the testing process.
- Recognize the impact of age on various aspects of laboratory testing.
- Utilize and maintain cross-training skills effectively.
- Accurately enter patient and quality control results.
- Complete quality assurance forms with all necessary documentation and follow up on critical values.
- Conduct and document quality control testing, calibration, and preventive maintenance as per established protocols, taking necessary corrective actions.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the evaluation of specialized quality control reports.
- Monitor quality control and quality assurance processes regularly.
- Proactively engage in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Communicate essential information to healthcare professionals and supervisors to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Utilize the system to access patient and test information, ensuring accurate billing for tests as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is required, along with a valid NYS CLT license. While a minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience is preferred, we are open to training candidates who meet our educational requirements.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $41.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will receive compensation within the stated hourly rates. Please note that pay may vary based on location.
