Key Responsibilities
  • EH&S Leadership: Lead the development and implementation of EH&S policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the company complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including those administered by Cal OSHA, the EPA, and San Benito County agencies.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Develop and implement required OSHA safety programs, including forklift, respirator, bloodborne pathogens, hazard communication, PPE, and other relevant programs.
  • Training and Engagement: Provide regular training for emergency preparedness, PPE compliance, safe chemical handling, and other EH&S policies to ensure associate engagement and understanding.
  • Incident Investigation and Response: Respond to accidents and incidents, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce the risk of future incidents.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of EH&S activities, including training, inspections, and incident investigations, and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and quality assurance, to ensure effective communication and collaboration on EH&S matters.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a scientific field, with relevant experience.
  • Certifications: Relevant safety certifications, such as OSHA 30-hour Industrial.
